Searching the aeromedical listings: Help

This facility allows you to search the listings of people with an interest in aerospace medicine. You can search the listings using any or all of the parameters and options provided on the search page.

The upper form, or yellow section, is titled 'Browse the listings' and allows you to browse the listings in alphabetical order. Clicking on the 'B' button will, for example, list people whose surnames or family names begin with the letter B as well as those whose email addresses begin with the letter B. The 'number' button will list the people whose email addresses begin with a numeral rather than a letter.

The alternative is to use the lower form, titled 'Search the listings', which provides you with various ways to search the listings.

The red section lets you search for people by name. The search only looks at the family name or surname. The 'start' and 'anywhere' buttons are to indicate whether you want the the search to only look at names starting with the text you enter ("ston" will return people with the name "Stone" but not "Johnstone") or whether the text can occur anywhere in the name ("ston" will return return people with the names "Stone" and "Johnstone").

The blue section lets you search the email addresses. The 'start' and 'anywhere' buttons work as described above. The logical operators 'and' and 'or' link the name search and the email search. Generally 'and' will return less entries while 'or' will return more. Do not enter the 'at' symbol, @, into this field as it is not used in displaying email addresses on this website.

The green section lets you search the country of your choice. The 'and' and the 'or' buttons link the country search to whatever parameters are, or are not, selected in the previous sections.

Examples:

To browse through the listings. Simply click on the 'A', 'B', 'C' buttons to view alphabetical listings of names and email addresses.

To find contact details for someone. If you know their name simply enter it into the red section of the lower form and click on the 'submit' button. If you're not sure of the spelling, is it 'Johnstone', 'Johnston', or 'Johnson', you can enter the first part of the name 'Johns' and the search engine will return all names beginning with 'Johns'. If you know they reside in a particulr country you could also click on the green 'and' button and select the country in question. This will limit the search to people with names beginning with 'Johns' who reside in that country. Similarly, if you know part of their email address you can enter that into the blue section and click on the 'submit' button.

To find people from your country. Simply select the country in question and click on the 'submit' button.

Warning:

This facility contains several thousand listings so if your search parameters are too general the results page could take a long time to load
